I’m a Creative Director/ Copywriter working in Chicago.
I spent the first part of my career creating traditional advertising. Over the past several years, I’ve evolved to the digital world and now build brands that tell a story through all consumer touch points.
A former group CD, first at Ogilvy & Mather and then at Foote Cone & Belding. One day, riding the elevator, I heard a woman say, “I’m the only one among my peers who hasn’t started her own agency.” Four months later I launched Lighton Colman and grew it from two people to 45.
I have worked on marquee brands such as Sears, Coca-Cola, Sara Lee, Mayo Health Systems, Experian, OfficeMax and International Truck as well as many specialty brands like Hanger, AMSURG, Ace Metal, Bang & Olufsen and many more.
I believe a good story outperforms a standard claim. So I work with my intellect and my heart. I enjoy executing through a wide range of channels, creating brand essence, compelling creative execution and extending it through print, direct marketing, websites, social media, video marketing – the whole gamut.
I am a selective networker. So I am an active member of the Marketing Executives Networking Group (MENG), the BMA (Business Marketing Association) and the USFSA (United Figure Skating Association.) I’ve traveled throughout the US, Europe and China to watch my kid compete in figure skating competitions. And I am one of the few adults with limited skating skills who can do a double Salchow.
